Most Valued User BigDaveH Posted March 3, 2016 Most Valued User #1 Share Posted March 3, 2016 Lately we get more Calls on Sipgate trunks that show up in the statistics NoChannelAvailable. Doese that mean I am at the limit of my Channel Licenses ? I have SIP Trunks and a couple of SIP Gateway trunks, how about dynamic channel licenses We have no ISDN trunks
Alexandre Posted March 3, 2016 #2 Share Posted March 3, 2016 Hello, I think you must check if your trunk is enabled you must have licence regarding number of call capacity that you have defined. I dont think that is dynamic, If you have two trunk sip with 2 channels each you must have 4 channels licence. You can desactivate one for testing. -
Most Valued User BigDaveH Posted March 12, 2016 Author Most Valued User #3 Share Posted March 12, 2016 As far as I understand are ISDN or SIP-Gateway trunks fixed Licenses. Sip trunks are supposed to be concurrent. But you are probably correct that it is an Licensing issue. (77 licensed channels
Most Valued User BigDaveH Posted March 12, 2016 Author Most Valued User #4 Share Posted March 12, 2016 After talking to a Telekom Specialist he told me where to find the used and max license information. It is sotred in the IpPbx....log traces , everytime a license is used up. I have wirtten a smal Windows service that reads the latest IpPbx.log file (Onchange and Oncreate ) it looks for the PrintLicenseCounts and interprets the line: 10 00:13:08.305 005828 Inf3 SrvGkLic 06E4A838 00000000 SLicResMgr::PrintLicenseCounts()(used / max) User = 61 / 248, GwTrunk = 54 / 54, LnkTrunk = 1 / 23, Phone = 6 / 11, CTI = 0 / 248, MEM = 13 / 248, VisualContacts = 0 / 0, DATEV = 0 / 0,VisualApps = 0 / 0,CTIPlus = 0 / 0 It collects the values and I put them in a database so I can see the changes and Monitor it with Prtg. One thing I found was a GwTrunk = 74/54 value , and this at times where I encountered a lott of NoChannelAvailable messages. With 77 channel licences ithere are only three left for IP trunk . The thing however is, how can I have more Used channel licenses then maximum configured channels ??? After a restart of the Netphone all was fine. and shows me GwTrunk = 54/54. Is there an easier way to get this license information. It is important in a growing company to predict when the time comes to get more licenses. (Tip for Swyx , build it in the next version in the SNMP lib. And show warnings wenn Phone/Trunk licensing is 95% used , it will boost sales :-) )

Perfmon and/or WMI (which can also be graphed to e.g. cacti) On 12.3.2016 at 11:32 AM, BigDaveH said: show warnings wenn Phone/Trunk licensing is 95% used Graph to cacti, use cacti treshold plugin --> get alerted I think Swyx goes the right way, when they don't put too much functions into the server core components. Every function rises the risk of failure and so the core swyx components should highly focus on their duties. At least when all monitoring and management can be aquired with industry standard tools. (--> https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh831568.aspx) I doubt that Swyx will do much to implement more SNMP available information, under that cirumstances. Besides that nearly all relevant information can already be gatheres via perfmon. It might be a good idea, to start looking for your next futureproof monitoring tools, if you want or have to stick to Windows server.
Most Valued User BigDaveH Posted March 14, 2016 Author Most Valued User #6 Share Posted March 14, 2016 Ok WMi will also work (PRTG works with both) . Is there some documentation available about the wMI calls that are needed. In SNMP I have only seen the number of licenses that are available not the number that is in user. Most Valued User Virikas Posted March 14, 2016 Most Valued User #7 Share Posted March 14, 2016 I don't know any official documentation, and our internal one isn't available for public use. A little hint: Don't look for the keyword "license", just look how many channels are used over all of your trunks. In Perfmon you'll find that under "Swyxware Trunk" NOT "Swyxware Server"
