    Dear Swyx Users

Did you know that SwyxIt! is enabled with a standard TAPI driver?

And it gets even better, Swyx’s TAPI integration comes at no extra cost. SwyxIt! TAPI support is for FREE and allows dialing from TAPI enabled applications like CRM and ERP systems.

Integrating SwyxWare with your CRM software will enhance customer interactions and drive improved efficiency. Many well know business application like ACT!, Sage, Saleslogix or Legrand are supporting TAPI service provider.

    How does TAPI it work:

    Search on Incoming Call:
When an incoming call is received, the CRM application uses the Caller ID to scan the database for a number match. If a match is found the CRM application brings up the appropriate Contact or Company record.

    Dial from your application:
And Click2Dial from your CRM applications increases also productivity and time efficiency in all outbound phone tasks.

Have a good weekend and happy Swyxing...

    Regards
    Mirjam

    Dear Swyx Users

Many Swyx customers are using customized SwyxIt! clients. Web-integration, Queue Visualization or even trouble ticket lookup are integrated in the SwyxIt! soft phone and boost the Swyx users productivity.

But did you know that since SwyxWare Version 6.20 one can set a system default skin, so all users are presented with that particular custom SwyxIt! skin?

Some organization have two or three different skins which can be utilized by their users. Below you find instructions on how to delete the not wanted skins, restricting users to only choose from these custom skins.

All SwyxWare information is written in to a database and the administrator can access all files via the "IpPBX File Explorer" program. It is also in here, where one can delete not needed skins from the database.

The "IpPBX File Explorer" program can be found on the Swyx DVD in option "Tools".

For security reason, Swyx has restricted access to all System Default files and therefore the Template skins cannot be removed without a small tweak.

How to get access to the System default files: delete system template skins

    1. Edit file IpPbxFileExplorer.exe.config in C:\Program Files\IpPbxFileExplorer and change the value for EnableSystemFileAccessMenu to True.

    2. Open the program "IpPbx File Explorer" and connect to the Swyx Server

    3. In Menu Edit (Tick) "Edit Enable system file access"

    4. Now you can select the Skins which are not longer needed and remove and delete them from the database.

IMPORTANT: Always take extra caution when enabling access to all system files!

Have a good weekend and happy Swyxing...

    Regards

    Dear Swyx Users

Did you know that with Swyx Event Log Monitor you can observe your Swyx IP-PBX and send out automated e-mails if an error occurs?

The Swyx Event Log Monitor is a Windows Service which monitors the Windows application event log of the Swyx system where it is installed and sends email notifications when new events are written into the log.

You can configure which events cause a notification by specifying the event source and per source a type (Error, Information, Warning, Failure Audit, Success Audit) or a list of event IDs. This monitoring tool can be found on the Sywx DVD in Tools.

Additionally this Swyx Knowledgebase Article contains an overview of all event log entries generated by SwyxWare.

Have a good weekend and happy Swyxing...

    Dear Swyx Users

Did you know that you can Intercom to a colleague's phone directly?

This way you can pass on a message to your co-worker and he does not have to pickup the phones handset. This means a call will be immediately established.

In the case of Swyx Phone the telephone speaker is activated and in the case of SwyxIt! the PC speakers are activated and the caller can immediately give his message.

    Option: A
    Option: B
One can setup a SwyxIt! Speed-Dial and define in the Properties whether the Speed Dial can be used for an intercom connection.

When dialing a users extension simply add the feature code *72*:
    EXTENSION*72*

Note: A user can only call another user per intercom connection if he or she is signaled the status of the other user.

Have a good weekend and happy Swyxing...

    Regards
    Mirjam
